This is a beautiful original blue and white salt glaze stoneware pitcher commonly referred to as The Windy City, Gibson Girl, Flatiron among other names.  The pitcher has great embossing images of a Gibson type girl with blowing dress on one side and the Flatiron Building on the other.    The pitcher measures  8 1/2" in height to the top by 6" in diameter at the base with advertising on the bottom for "Made in Germany For M. Friedman & Company 237 Post St. San Francisco. - The Biggest Furniture House On The Pacific Coast".  The pitcher has a tight crack on one edge.   A beautiful vintage stoneware pitcher.
